TERMS AND CONDITIONS

 

ARTICLE 1 - ORGANIZATION OF THE TOURNAMENT

1.1. - The French institutes in Denmark, Finland, Norway, Sweden and the French Embassy in Iceland are organizing an online tournament using the game “Trackmania”, and are hereinafter referred to as “the organizers”. This event is part of the international festival “Digital November”, organized throughout the world by the French diplomatic and cultural network.


1.2. - The tournament is entitled “Trackmania Nordic Cup” and is organized from 07/11/2023 to 16/11/2023.


1.3. - This tournament is neither organized nor sponsored by Facebook, Instagram or Google. It is sponsored by Ubisoft Nadeo. The personal data collected is intended for the organizers only.

ARTICLE 2 - THE GAME

2.1. - The tournament will be held using the racing video game “Trackmania”, developed by the French studio Ubisoft Nadeo and originally released on July 1st, 2020.


2.2. - If asked on the registration form, a key granting free and limited access to the game will be sent by the organizers to the registered participants by mail or on the Discord server of the event.


2.3. - The game and tournament are accessible on PC, Ubisoft Connect and Epic Games, on Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5 and Amazon Luna


ARTICLE 3 - CONDITIONS FOR PARTICIPATION

3.1. - The tournament is open to all residents of Denmark, Finland, Norway, Sweden and Iceland over the age of 18.


3.2. - Participants must have a valid email address, a working Internet connection as well as a Ubisoft Connect account and a recent computer capable of running the game.


3.3. - Participation is free and implies full and complete acceptance of these rules by the participants and their application by the organizers.


3.4. - In order to register, participants must fill in the form on this link.


3.5. - Participants will only be officially registered once they receive a confirmation email from the organizers. The organizers reserve the right not to register some players who filled in the form in case of a lack of keys, or for any other valid reason.

ARTICLE 4 - COURSE OF THE TOURNAMENT

4.1. - It is possible to enroll until November 6th, 2023 at midnight CET. Participants will receive an email confirming their registration and containing, if necessary, a key to get access to Trackmania for free, as well as a link to the Discord server of the tournament. Joining the Discord server is mandatory in order to participate.


4.2. - The group stage will take place on November 15th, 2023 at 8PM CET. Participants will first play all maps in Rounds Mode, from which the best 32 players advance to the next round. Each player will be assigned to a group of a total of 4 players. Each group must play once in Cup Mode - Classic (Finalist Mode). Once a player reaches 100 points, they must arrive in first position in a race to be qualified. The first two finalists from each group qualify for the next phase until there are only 16/8 players left.


4.3. - The semi-finals and finals will take place on November 16th, 2023 at 8PM CET. The two winners of the tournament will be announced at the end of the day. Phase 2 will be streamed on Twitch by SBVille.

ARTICLE 5 - IDENTIFICATION OF WINNERS AND ELIMINATION OF PARTICIPANTS

5.1. - During the group stage, participants are required to take a screenshot of the victory screen at the end of the game and send it to the organizers in order to prove that they have won.


5.2. - During the semi-finals and finals, the first two finalists will be announced during the live-stream.


5.3. - If a participant voluntarily interrupts a game, their team will automatically be disqualified.


5.4. - Eliminated participants have no recourse against the organizers and the other participants regarding their elimination.


ARTICLE 6 - PRIZE

6.1. - The two winners will be offered a trip to Paris to attend the Paris Game Week fair 2024.


6.2. - The French institutes in Denmark, Finland, Norway, Sweden and the French Embassy in Iceland will pay for transport costs, accommodation and meals, as well as the entry fees to the Paris Game Week fair 2024.


6.3. - The organizers have the right to modify the prize at any time and without any notice. In the event of force majeure, the organizers reserve the right to replace the prize awarded with a prize of equivalent nature and value, or to modify the dates.

ARTICLE 7 - COMMITMENTS OF PARTICIPANTS AND WINNERS

7.1. - Public and private remarks from participants on topics including, but not limited to the following are strictly prohibited: remarks of pornographic or pedophile nature; condoning crimes or offences of any kind; defamatory, abusive, slanderous or denigrating towards third parties, natural or legal persons; infringing the privacy and image rights of any person; infringing the intellectual, artistic or industrial property rights of a third party; and in general, any remark or behaviour contrary to the legislation in force.


7.2. - Each participant certifies that they are the owners of the Ubisoft Connect account used to download the game.


7.3. - Each participant certifies that they are playing every game in person and are not being replaced by somebody else.


7.4. - All participants commit to contesting the tournament fairly, and to respect the final result of each game.


7.5. - Any commercial use of the key that will be granted to each participant by the organizers for free is strictly prohibited.


7.6. - Any participant violating the rules stated above will be immediately disqualified from the tournament without prejudice to any legal prosecution which may be brought against the participant by the organizers or by third parties.


7.7. - Participants expressly authorize the organizers to use their first names for all purposes of public information about the tournament and in particular for the publication of the list of winners.


ARTICLE 8 - PROTECTION OF PERSONAL DATA

8.1. - Personal information collected for the contest is processed in accordance with all the national and European provisions related to data protection, in particular the European regulation on the protection of personal data which entered into force on May 25, 2018.


8.2. - The participants are informed that their personal data is recorded within the framework of the tournament and is necessary to validate their participation.


8.3. - The personal data collected by the organizers for the tournament are the first name, last name, username, birthdate, country of residence and email address. The organizers, as data controllers, undertake to use personal data for the sole purpose of the tournament. The data is kept for 10 years.


8.4. - Regarding their data, the participants have a right of access, rectification, withdrawal of consent, erasure, limitation of processing, opposition, portability, or definition of the processing of their post-mortem data. ARTICLE 9 - USE OF THE WINNERS’ IDENTITY

9.1. - The two winners authorize the organizers to use, for advertising purposes, their first name, without restriction or reservation, and without this conferring any remuneration, any right or any advantage other than the allocation of their prize.

ARTICLE 10 - RESPONSIBILITIES

10.1. - Participation implies knowledge and acceptance of the characteristics and limitations of the Internet, the lack of protection of certain data against possible misappropriation or piracy and risks of contamination by possible viruses circulating on the Internet. The organizers decline all direct and indirect responsibility in the event of misuse or incident related to the use of a computer, access to the internet or any other technical connection, or an incorrect or incomplete address.

ARTICLE 11 - INTERNET NETWORK

11.1. - The organizers strongly encourage participants to ensure a good Internet connection before starting a game, and cannot be held responsible in the event of a connection failure and/or loss of electronic mail.


11.2. - A defeat due to a bad Internet connection will not lead to a rematch, unless agreed otherwise by the two teams participating in the game.


ARTICLE 12 - ACCEPTANCE OF THE RULES

12.1. - The simple fact of participating in the tournament entails the outright acceptance of these regulations, and of the organizers’ arbitration for the cases provided for and not provided for.
